The best way to discover AndalucĂa and beyond!

New Golf Frontiers

JEREZ

With the increasing popularity of “away days” for many of the Costa del Sol clubs and for those looking to try something different the new golfing frontiers such as Cadiz, Huelva, Seville, Jerez or AlmerĂa are proving to be extremely popular for two, three or four night stays.

The most popular trip at the moment is to JĂ©rez., via the famous “Ruta del Toro” through the fabulous Parque Los Alcornocales. With a visit to the Andalucian Horses show at the Royal Equestrian School of JerĂ©z “Como bailan los Caballos Andaluces”, a guided visit to Bodega “Rey Fernando de Castilla”, with an explanation about how the famous sherry, wine and brandy of Jerez is made – not forgetting a tasting of a variety of tapas and wines as well as a great night at a live Flamenco show at La Taberna Flamenca in Santiago Square, the birthplace of this spectacular art JerĂ©z certainly has something for everyone.!

The artistic charms of JerĂ©z have been well preserved and the town's wide, well-kept streets are full of monuments.

The most notable feature of the town centre is the well proportioned Baroque Cathedral, with a beautiful tower,

five naves and fine pictorial illustrations. The palaces are another great attraction: the Cabildo, houses the  Archaeological  Museum  which stands witness to the history of the district. Almost all the palaces such as those of Domeq, Ponce de LeĂłn, Dávila or Riquelme have exquisite patios and Baroque facades.

Jeréz invites the visitor to stroll through its streets and squares with tall palm trees alternating with flat, winding streets overlooked by towers or bell gables and the palaces. The town also possesses a good Zoo and original museums, such as the Clock Museum while not forgetting the Jerez Motor Racing Circuit!. The spectrum of hotels and restaurants offers its own very particular gastronomy which just has to be tried and has everything from kidneys

in sherry sauce" to "oxtail stew".

If you want to visit Jeréz or any other location for your Captains Away Trip or lads or girlie weekends then Viajes Celtic escorted tours with all golf, accommodation, gastronomy and cultural events included takes the headache out of arranging everything!

CHINA -

Mission Hills Golf Club

In May 2004, the Guinness World Records confirmed that the Mission HIlls, with 180 Holes of Golf, had surpassed the famed Pinehurst Golf Club in the United States, the previous record holder in the size stakes.

In addition to its ten golf courses, two clubhouses, and Country Club, Mission Hills, which provides employment for more than 6,500 people, boasts a 315-room hotel and has successfully integrated a variety of properties alongside the fairways, ranging from luxurious villas to resort apartments.

One of the primary factors behind the success of Mission Hills is its location at the heart of the region’s comprehensive transport network. Just 20 minutes from Hong Kong, the cub is also within easy access by road to the cities of Shenzhen, Dongguan and Guangzhou.

The recent opening of Guangdong International Airport and the proximity to the Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen airports, all within an hour and a half driving radius, has made Mission Hills an even more viable option for businessmen and travellers from domestic and international markets.

Along with the golf and tennis facilities, there’s a badminton hall, squash courts, swimming pools, a state-of-the-art gym with ‘Cybex’ equipment, and a billiards room with full-sized snooker tables.

Whether you’re visiting from Europe or The United States , not only will Mission Hills Golf Club welcome you with open arms, but also it will surpass all of your expectations. As you’ll discover, the world’s largest golf club is truly worthy of its lofty status as one of the wonders of the golfing world.
